Contract Administration for Stormwater Projects
UrbanWater provides construction-phase support for stormwater projects, acting as a technical point of contact between the owner, contractor and approval agencies.
Keeping design and construction-phase support together helps the work get built as intended and closed out cleanly.
Scope of work
- Contract administration
- Site reviews
- Shop drawing and submittal review
- Responses to contractor RFIs
- Review of change orders and progress claims
- Deficiency tracking and close-out
Common questions
What does contract administration involve?
The engineer supports the owner during construction by reviewing submittals, answering RFIs, reviewing payment claims and changes, reviewing the work on site and tracking deficiencies through to close-out.
Is it the same as full-time inspection?
No. Site reviews check general conformance with the design at intervals. Full-time inspection is a separate service.
Why use the design engineer?
They know the design intent and can answer technical questions quickly, which reduces delays and disputes.
